Jury Orders 50 Cent to Pay Additional $2 Million in Punitive Damages to Woman Whose Sex Tape He Posted Online
Bwahaha! Despite his efforts to game the system, a jury has ordered 50 Cent to pay an additional $2 million in punitive damages to a woman whose sex tape he posted online. The decision came two weeks after jurors ordered the multiplatinum-selling artist to pay $5 million to Lastonia Leviston, who filed an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit against that 50 Cent. The $2 million award was less than the $15 million Lastonia's lawyer had asked for earlier in the day, but more than the $700,000 than 50 Cent's lawyers had recommended. "We had to compromise. Some wanted (to award) more, some wanted less," said the jury foreman, Tom Evans. "What we came up with seemed to be balanced kind of equation." As expected, none of the jurors believed 50 Cent's argument that he's broke and that his his hip-hop lifestyle of flashy cars, jewelry and homes is all a mirage. He tried to game the system and lost.
