Karl Lagerfield: Fur is For Human Safety, Don't Talk About Skinny Models Until the 'Zillions' of Fat People Lose Weight

Bitchy Karl Lagerfield is a design god. His clothes are breathtaking and any woman would want to squeeze their way into one of his gowns, but not fat people.

The fashion designer, talking to a British radio show, says the world needs to stop obsessing with skinny models on the runways, but focus on fixing the "zillions" of the world's fat people.

"In France there are, I think, less than one per cent of people who are too skinny," he says. "There are nearly 30 per cent of young people who are too fat. So let's take care of the zillions of the too fat before we talk about the percentage that's left."

Damn, Karl.

The designer, who admits that he doesn't actually wear fur, says the practice is OK because there is "an industry who lives from that" as long as the animals are killed "nicely".

He says "killing those beasts who would kill us if they could."

"In a meat-eating world, wearing leather for shoes and clothes and even handbags, the discussion of fur is childish," Karl adds.

Of course, PETA is pissed calling the designer "childish" a "dinosaur who is as out of step as his furs are out of style."

PETA is going in. Sounds a bit personal.
