RuPaul's Drag Race is a Hit - Shantè, Please Stay But 'Don't Fuck it Up'
We've been waiting weeks for this show to premier and the long wait was worth it. LOGO muddafing DELIVERED!
"RuPaul's Drag Race" which is slick, highly stylized and utterly entertaining is every reality show you've seen. Mostly it's part "America's Top Model" part "Project Runway", but the cameras that film this show lenses are smeared with so much Vaseline, everyone looks 19 and fabulous.
In the first episode, the nine contestants are introduced, and take part in their first challenge "Drag on a Dime" with RuPaul serving as host/judge/photo shoot director/mentor introduces us to our (and yours) favorite catchphrase: "Don't fuck it up!" Heidi Klum, Tyra, Tim Gunn and Jay Manuel only dream they could be this fierce.
The elimination ceremony of Drag Race is the best you'll come upon. First off, RuPaul appears at one end of the runway, working couture and, like Tyra, introduces us to the judges and the prizes, but takes it to the next level.
And how the queens are dismissed is fabulous, too. The two contestants on the bottom two must lip-sync for their life. Lip-syncing to RuPaul's song "Supermodel" which she jokes is the reason she can afford all of her homes around the world.
"After consulting myself, my accountant, and my housekeeper, I've made my decision..." RuPaul says, before telling one of queens she can "shantè, stay" and the eliminated one to "sashay, away."
Lovesit!
Missed the premier episode, go here to watch it.
