Oprah is Mad at Wendy: report

Scoring the first television interview with ailing diva Aretha Franklin is the first and an impressive get for Wendy's talk show, now in it's second (full) season. It was the interview everyone wanted -- including Oprah who's "rip-roaring furious," that Aretha chose to sit-down with Wendy, according to the National Enquirer.
"Oprah is about as angry as can be," said an insider. "This is the final season of her show, and she's been pushing to land all the big 'gets' out there. Oprah is embarrased that Aretha -- a legend -- chose Wendy, who is a relative newcomer to the TV talk show world.

While Oprah, 57, gives her 46-year-old rival credit for snagging the much-coveted sit-down with Aretha, she's still "steaming," adds the insider, telling pals Wendy's show is "a long way" from hers, and criticizing it for being "silly and gossipy."

According to the report, had Oprah landed the interview, she planned to pay homage to the singer by inviting her friends Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy -- since Aretha has said she will not discuss the details of her mysterious surgery with anyone, including Wendy or Oprah, because it's no one's business.

Here's the interview, which was taped last Friday at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Mich. FYU: Aretha didn't reveal anything she hasn't already revealed in print interviews. (The second part airs tomorrow.)

Update: Here's part deux!
