Patti LaBelle Pulls the Race Card

Weeks after a West Point cadet sued legendary diva Patti LaBelle for sicing her bodyguards on him outside a Houston airport terminal, Miss Patti has filed a countersuit accusing the cadet, Richard King, of attacking her bodyguards after he directed profane and racial slurs toward her. Wait, didn't the airport's surveillance video prove that Miss Patti's bodyguards who were the aggressors and left Richard bloodied and with a concussion? Did we miss something. (pulling up the Google) OK, since the surveillance tape has no audio, this will be a case of he said, he said, he said, he said, she said. Miss Patti claims in the suit, her bodyguards asked Richard to move along, but became belligerent and "directed profane and racial slurs towards LaBelle. When LaBelle's son (Zuri Edwards) heard the profanity and racial epithets, he informed King that the woman in the limousine was his mother. Without warning or provocation, King violently and deliberately punched Edwards in the face." (The tape shows one of Miss Patti's hired guards "push up against" Richard and the 23-year-old cadet pushed the guard in an effort to protect himself from a punch.) Since Miss Patti can't expect to recover any money from this lowly cadet, what is this ridiculous countersuit about? Is it just legal maneuvering? In fact, Richard's lawyer says "several eyewitnesses saw and clearly heard the incident. The counter-claim is completely without merit."
