This startling photo was taken in Atheron, Australia. It shows a Golden Orb Weaver spider with its long black legs wrapped around the body of a dead bird suspended in its web. The photo has been authenticated and representatives from the Australian Reptile Park say the bird must have flown into the spider web and become stuck. Experts say the Golden Orb Weaver, which grows to the size of a human hand, spins a strong web high in protein because it depends on it to capture large insects for food.
Here's a second photo.
