NFLer Roy Williams Sues Ex For Return of $80K Engagement Ring

Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams slapped his ex-girlfriend, former Miss Texas USA Brooke Daniels, with a lawsuit to regain possession of a $76,600 engagement ring he sent her through the mail last Valentine's Day. According to the complaint, Roy says, in addition to the ring and a recorded marriage proposal, in the overnight package he sent Brooke $5,000 for school and dental bills, a baseball for her brother. After she declined his marriage proposal, Roy says he asked Brooke to return the ring six weeks later, but she told him she had lost it. The 30-year-old -- who was briefly engaged to R&B singer Kelly Rowland after a few months of dating, before she dumped him and called off the wedding in 2005 -- then reported it lost to his insurance agency who discovered Brooke's father, Michael -- who is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit -- had the ring. Michael says he believes Roy gave his daughter the ring as gift, but is willing to return it to avoid a lawsuit. Hmm, we wonder if the ring he's suing for is the same ring he gave to Kelly?
