Lady Fined For Screaming Bible Verses Outside Homes, On City Streets
Martha Nagbe from Lisbon, North Dakota called the media because she was recently ordered to pay $150 in fines for “unnecessary noise." According to the chief of police, citizens have complained of Martha praying too loudly on city sidewalks and several neighbors have complained that they have been awaken by Martha "standing outside of their house shouting...for a lengthy period of time." Martha, whose husband is a pastor, believes she has the right to do whatever she wants to because this is America and laws and her neighbors' right to quiet enjoyment don't matter. "I can't stop. I'm trusting God," she says. “We all need prayers and great she’s out there praying for all of us, but it’s just the volume of her voice,” the police chief, counters. Amen.
