The Perfect Heist - Robbers Take $108 mil of Harry Winston's Diamonds

The poor economy is making thieves work overtime.

Four armed bandits, some dressed in drag, seized millions of dollars worth of jewels in a brazen robbery at the Harry Winston store in Paris on Thursday, according to police.

Reports said that the thieves made off with more than $108 million worth of necklaces, rings, watches and earrings in what appeared a meticulously planned heist. Robbers were said to know the names of several employees and as well secret storage units for jewels. No shots were fired.

At least two of the bandits were men wearing wigs and women's clothes, according to someone on the scene. The robbers also spoke a foreign language at times and appeared to know employees' names when they robbed the store before it closed early Thursday at the height of Christmas shopping season.

The heist comes just over a year after a similar raid on the same Harry Winston store on the Avenue Montaigne, when thieves made off with more than $25 million in diamonds. That robbery was considered the most spectacular..
