Epic Robbery Fail

A gang of sledge hammer-wielding robbers rolled up on a jewelry store with all intentions of robbing it, but the attempt was foiled when the quick-thinking store owners fought back with a fire extinguisher. Question? Why did they destroy the glass doors when it was obviously open? Wouldn't that make their entrance less noticeable?
