A Western Kentucky man is behind bars after he left his 5-week-old son in an oven for several hours.
Larry C. Long, 33, told police he smoked marijuana at a restaurant where he works and then came home and drank almost a bottle of whiskey. He is also claiming the weed must have been tainted and laced with something else because he was hallucinating.
The mother, 34-year-old Brandy S. Hatton, who also drank whiskey that night before going to bed around midnight, told police she was awaken by the boy's cries at 5:30am.
While the boy wasn't hurt, Larry was charged with child endangerment. The couple's other two children were turned over to a relative.
