Florida Representative Alcee Hastings says what he means and means what he says. During a meeting of the House Rules Committee this week, he called Texas a “crazy state” because the state chose not to implement parts of the Affordable Care Act. He said: “I don’t know about in your state, which I think is a crazy state to begin with, and I mean that just as I said it.” All 25 Texas House Republicans demanded the congressman apologize to the citizens of Texas, but Rep. Hastings -- who admitted that Florida is crazy, too -- has not issued an apology and has said he doesn't plan on ever doing so. What? Someone in Congress really standing up for his convictions?
