Female Patient Steals Ambulance, Leads Cops on High-Speed Chase


An patient at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Texas, bolted from the emergency room and stole an ambulance, which was left running. She then led cops on a 10-minute chase. As she headed south, deputies placed spike strips on the roadway, causing the ambulance's tires to blow, which eventually brought the pursuit to an end. The woman, 34-year-old Jennifer Lee Luke, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon evading arrest, theft and duty on striking unattended vehicle.
