No Golden Globes Acting Nod for Beyoncè, Snags One for Song

Mrs Carter's portrayal as Etta James in the film Cadillac Records was overlooked by the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the group that puts on the Golden Globes Awards.

When the nominations were announced this morning, Cadillac Records was, in all essence, snubbed. The lone nomination was for "Once in a Lifetime" in the Best Original Song category. The song was written by Beyoncé, Amanda Ghost, Scott McFarnon, Ian Dench, James Dring, and Jody Street.

Don't think too much into this, though. The Association is comprised of about 90 journalists who write for unknown publications around the world and the award show's selection process has been much scrutinized in the past.

The 66th Annual Golden Globes airs Jan. 11, 2009 on NBC.
