First of all, we watch "Live with Regis & Kelly" religiously (all right, everyday) and we've can't remember ever hearing Regis mention he has a son (or daughter named Amy). We've heard of and seen alot of his two daughters with Joy - JJ and Joanna, though.
Daniel, born with a spinal cord defect that eventually led to a double amputation, was born to Regis first wife Catherine Faylen. (They were married married for 13 years, divorcing in 1968. He married his current wife, Joy, in 1970.)
With the downturn in the economy, things just aren't the same for Daniel, who sells crafts; he and his wife, Judy, are merely making ends meet.
"Our finances have gotten so bad we had to file for debt consolidation, and we barely have enough money to eat. Sometimes we have to borrow money from friends to buy food!" Judy said. "But at this point, we don't even have enough money to pay the $70 fee for a booth at a craft fair."
Wow!
This ought to be true, because after the story broke, Daniel confirmed it.
"The Enquirer called and my wife told the truth, using her name; Judy fears little. She knows what my father can be like though, because he has gotten mouthy with her, too. My wife will not be disrespected for trying to pay for food and medicines."
Hey, Reeege: You make more than $21 MILLION a year. Sending a little cash to your only son won't hurt the bank.
Tsk. Tsk.
