President-elect Barack Obama's historic victory is apparently good for business -- retail business.
Allen Adamson, managing director of branding firm Landor Associates, told the Wall Street Journal, that Obama is a "badge brand", which is an item or image that people want to wear because “if I put his name on me, it says, ‘I’m cool.’ Wearing something with Obama’s name on it says ‘I’m the next generation, I’m new, I’m about change,’”
These days Andre Leon Talley (How You Doin') is rocking a $20 knit cap with Obama spelled out in rhinestones; He will be giving them as Christmas gifts, too. Andre also revealed that he will be wearing a custom-made coat with Barack Obama's face drawn in crystals across the back to the presidential inauguration.
Oh, hell to the no! He certainly won't be missed in that get-up.
Other Obama items big for retailers include dog tags, sunglasses, and of course, t-shirts.

Obama is not the bad guy. In fact, he's helping us by lowering the cost of money for people, increasing grant funds, and more as a bailout package for us.
