We were all expecting Mrs Carter/Beyoncè/Sasha Fierce to choose designer Gareth Pugh, whom she has been rocking a lot lately (his clothes are in the photo above) to design the costumes for her upcoming world tour.
But, alas, she chose designer Thierry Mugler to do the job.
And what a job it will be: There will be 58 costumes for Beyoncè, plus clothes for back-up dancers, singers and the band.
Dayum.
Mugler will also art-direct a segment of the show.

Beyoncé and Solange will play a benefit concert in Texas to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Ike. This will go down in Houston at the House of Blues on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
The Fuse network will sponsor Beyoncé and Solange: Hope for the Holidays, a concert to benefit the Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund and will air the concert as a one-hour special on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10 p.m.
PS: Beyoncè says that she and her husband, Jay Z, ARE NOT going on tour together.
