It's been entire week since the Rihanna beatdown-ation for ex-boyfriend Chris Brown to release a statement to clear up all the rumors we've been happy to republish.
He had his newly-hired PR folks (who specializes in crisis management) pen and release this carefully-worded, self-serving statement:
Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds”
We think God has other things more pressing to deal with, like the thousands of people suffering from famine around the world, or the millions who've lost their jobs because of this recession, than to be caught up in some rich, young kids' mess.
Just saying.
Last week he sent this text message to singer Lauren London. (Is that another one of the jumpoffs?
To All My Fans I Appreciate The Love and I Wish I Could Talk Back Directly To Ya’ll Right Now. But Its Just Not A Good Time. Becuase Alot Of Fans Been Writing Me.Thanks To All My Fans That Are Trying To Keep My Music On The radio, and Im Sorry To All My Fans That I’ve Disappointed. Just Because I’m famous. Doesn’t mean nothing, I’m Human and Make Mistakes, Just Like Ya’ll Do.”
Heeding advice from family and friends to dump Chris STAT!, Rihanna has given him the boot, according to sources:
“Rihanna really did think that Chris was the love of her life. But when everyone started to question their relationship, she burst into tears and reluctantly agreed that they were right. She just can’t believe it’s ended this way.”
And, Chris' camp isn't taking this without a fight.
According to someone close to him: “Chris and his camp won’t take this lying down. He’s told friends that Rihanna’s true colours will soon come out.”
Meanwhile, Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, tells People his daughter is healing her physical and emotional wounds in her native Barbados.
When he saw her last Thursday he noticed "some bruising." Adding, "She will be all right. I think so."
On Chris:
"You think you know somebody, but you really don't."
On his daughter's relationship with Chris before the beatdownation:
"They seemed pretty happy. I don't know what went wrong."
On the relationship after the beatdownation:
"The relationship is over and I am pleased. She doesn’t want to speak to Chris. She is being very brave about things and said that she will be back on stage performing soon"
He also adds he hopes Rihanna becomes a victims advocate and "stand up for women all over the world."
- Jay Z said this on Saturday:
"This is a real situation. You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that. I just think we should all support her. She's going through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well. She's very young."
- Christine Brown, Chris' aunt, told a Virginia radio station:
“He’s very passive of someone ridiculing him or doing something. He’ll sit back and sit back but a person will only sit back for so long when someone is doing something to him. It’s always two sides to a story and just know that Chris Brown would never attack anyone for no reason. It doesn’t justify anybody doing anything but it’s a one sided story. Every day it’s a new lie. There is something different added to the story that makes no sense at all. [Like the herpes situation] That is just totally crazy that makes no sense and we don’t even know where that came from. Someone obviously made that up and it had nothing to do with anything. That is so false. It’s just really killing me that the media circus is killing everything that he’s worked so hard for.”
- As for the person who allegedly sent that text to Chris which supposedly enraged Rihanna, Paris Hilton, Leona Lewis and Keisha Chante all deny texting Chris.
- MTV will air a News Special titled Chris Brown & Rihanna: Love In Trouble at 6pm tonight.
- 50 Cent and his ongoing fake-beef with Rick Ross has addressed the Chris/Rihanna saga in his weekly cartoon in which Office Ricky arrests Chris.
- According to marketing experts companies would avoid additional endorsement deals with both Chris and Rihanna and would be especially wary of working with Chris.
