Singer Aretha Franklin, whose hat got as much press as the Obamas themselves on Inauguration Day, says she was shocked about all the fuss. After all it's just a hat with a big-ass bow, to focus the eye upwards instead of down at her ginormous ass.
But, alas, after prodding, she has agree to loan the hat to the Smithsonian, where it will hang out with Michelle Obama's clothing for a while, then it will find it's permanent home in Barack Obama's presidential library.
Aretha says she wanted the perfect hat: she traveled to Paris and back looking for one. However, she found the hat in Detroit.
The designer is one of the few people not hurting financially, because he has been inundated with orders.
'Cause you know, black women love their hats for Sunday services.
