New York is facing a staggering $4 billion budget. Who can save us? The New York City tourism bureau sure hope the gays can. On the heels of the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots - seen as the start of the gay and lesbian civil rights movement - New York has kicked off a $1.9 million marketing campaign to bring more gay and lesbian travelers to the city this year.
The Rainbow Pilgrimage campaign, which features up to 50% off hotel rooms and discounts to some of Broadway's biggest show, hopes to keep NY as the top travel destination in the world and, hey, keep us employed.
