It's official. "American Idol" has finalized its divorce from Paula Abdul, mailed her the toothbrush she left behind and have moved on to a next love interest -- Ellen DeGeneres! The talk show host made the announcement yesterday during a taping that she will be talent competition's fourth permanent judge. Tres exciting!
“I’m going to have a day job and a night job,” Ellen said at her talk show taping yesterday. “This is so exciting for me....“I’ve been dying to tell everyone,” she says. “It’s just been so hard to keep it a secret and we just finally got the OK and I’m so excited. It is going to be so much fun.”
Ellen says the deal has been in the works for a few weeks now. Coincidentally, if saw her guest judging an episode of "So You Think You Can Dance" a few weeks ago, then you know why "Idol" wanted her -- she was ridiculously hilarious! One can assume her 'SYTYCD' appearance was a test to see how she gels with other judges and fits into the talent competition format. She passed, with flying colors. Sadly for Paula, who is betting on a talk show of her own (which we hope gets greenlit soon), though, "Idol" had to hand over all - and we mean all - of it's money to Ellen, because you know she doesn't come cheap.
This is a stick up, stick up.
What, Beyoncè.

I, as a musician, don’t feel she, Ellen, is a good replacement for Paula.
