Bank Robber Tells Teller He Needs The Money to Pay His Mortgage

A man - that man in the photo - walked into an Atlanta bank yesterday afternoon seeking a loan to pay his mortgage. But it's a loan he doesn't intend to pay back. Well, until he's caught and thrown in jail. Police say the man, who is believed to be in his late 40s or early 50s was carrying a box wrapped in electrical tape -- which that he claimed could be detonated remotely by cellphone. (Someone has been watching too many Al Qaeda training videos.) And the pièce de résistance is he handed the teller a note that read: "give me the money ... I need to pay my mortgage ... Merry Christmas." This is the season of giving, right? (Wouldn't it something if the bank he held up is also the owner of his mortgage. Now, that would be rich!)
