Woman Kicked Off Plane After Accusing Pilot of Drinking

Cynthia Angel, 51, of Southern California said back on July 19 she was kicked off a Delta Air Lines flight in Atlanta because she reported that she and other passengers thought they smelled alcohol on the captain's breath. The captain was found to be sober and Cynthia, well she was escorted off the plane and put on another flight the next morning.(She also received meal and hotel vouchers.) Cynthia has since hired an attorney and you know she'll ultimately sue the airline 'cause that's the American (or, is it Delta?) way!

Delta has since issued this statement: "We took these allegations very seriously and the pilot responded immediately to Ms. Angel's concerns. Consistent with our policies, the crew contacted Flight Operations and Airport Customer Service who followed company policies and engaged a trained evaluator to determine if the pilot was impaired in any way. Following the evaluation, the pilot was cleared for duty. Airport Customer Service, in consultation with the flight crew, determined that because the passenger continued to express concern even after the pilot was cleared that it would be best to reaccomodate her on another flight."
