Saggers Banned From City Buses

If you want to ride a city bus in Fort Worth, Texas, make sure your pants are not sagging. The Fort Worth Transportation Authority’s updated dress code lets bus drivers turn away passengers whose pants sag below the waist. “Doesn’t matter what color you are, what race you are, what size you are, everybody, myself included, everybody needs to pull their pants up, it’s the right thing to do,” said Tony Johnson, of the bus service said. “If your grandmother came out with her pants around her legs she can’t ride the bus.” The no-saggy pants campaign began in August 2008, but the T recently made an administrative change to its dress code giving bus drivers authority to deny boarding to violators. The policy change took effect May 12, and that day drivers asked about 50 riders to pull up their pants before boarding. All complied.
