Three weeks ago, Laresha Wells gave birth to a beautiful baby girl she named Deaviona. The baby was born without hands and feet and Laresha has no idea why. She says none of her three other kids were born with congenital deformities and no one in her family - or her baby daddy's family - have had this issue. Her doctors are baffled, too. According to medical reports, congenital deformities are sometimes caused by a mother's (and possibly the father's) diet, vitamin intake, and glucose levels prior to ovulation, while the CDC says the abnormalities can also be caused by "a complex mix of factors including genetics, environment, and behaviors." Many birth defects have no known cause, however.
