Cissy Houston Opposes Rihanna Playing Whitney Houston in Biopic: report

In the wake of superstar Whitney Houston's sudden death last February, there is talk of a biopic. Such a film, which is reportedly being pushed by Whitney's "industry father" Clive Davis, is years away from hitting a movie theatre near you, but in the past weeks there have been rumblings that Whitney's daughter Bobbi Kristina (who says she's the only "actress" who can deliver a believable performance), Jennifer Hudson, Vivica A Fox, Jordin Sparks or Miss Fenty vying to play the starring role. The chances of Miss Fenty getting the part is nil to none, but should producers decide to consider her, Whitney's mother, Cissy Houston, wants them to know she adamantly opposes the idea.
"Over my dead body!" declared the 78-year-old, according to a source. "Cissy believes Rihanna celebrates everything she hated about Whitney's life -- the drugging, the boxing, the abusive relationship," the source continued....."Cissy does not think Whitney should be represented by someone like Rihanna," said the source. "In spite of what anyone thought about Whitney, she sees her as a God-fearing Christian who loved the Lord." Cissy is also dead-set against a movie being made about Whitney without family involvement because she fears outsiders would focus too much on the negative aspects of her daughter's troubled life. Cissy said IF there is a movie made about Whitney, she would insist on approving the actress," added the source. "And Rihanna certainly would NOT be on the list."

We think Meryl Streep should get the part.
