The pastor of St. Aloysius Church in Springfield, Illinois, has been granted a leave of absence after he called 911 last November from inside the church and told a police dispatcher he needed help getting out of a pair of handcuffs. We don't know how Father Tom Donovan -- a critic of same-sex marriage and was a chaplain in the Air National Guard (that's the photo of him in uniform, above) -- got in that predicament, but we all know he didn't handcuff himself. Oh, wondering why the Father Donovan's voice sounds garbled or muffled on the tape? Well, when cops arrived they found him handcuffed AND ballgagged. auto-erotic asphyxiation is what it's called. It killed actor David Carradine.
Listen to the 911 call:
Sidebar: The most telling part of the call was when he admits that the church is a business.
PS: How You Doin, pastor?
