This Guy Jumped From Second Floor of Courthouse to Avoid Taking Urine Test
In order to avoid submitting to a urine test Wednesday, 22-year-old Jordan William Salmela jumped from the second floor of the Dakota County Courthouse in St Paul, Minnesota to the first, landing himself in the hospital. After appearing before a judge on a theft charge, the judge ordered Jordan (who was previously jailed on several drug and theft convictions over the past few years) to submit to a urine test with the probation department. He then told authorities he was going to get a drink of water, because he didn’t have to go yet. Shortly there after, he ran and jumped over the open staircase. He landed near a children's play area, but no children were present. He appeared to have broken bones, but the sheriff's department doesn't currently know the full extent of his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. He is not currently under arrest while at the hospital, but that could all change once the county attorney get a wind of the case.
