24-year-old Man Pleads Guilty to Raping 91-year-old Woman

Ekwunze Job "EJ" Owen Jr, who was awaiting trial in connection with the rape of a 91-year-old woman in Tempe, Arizona last October pleaded guilty this morning. According to police, the 24-year-old 24-year-old was a serial rapist who preyed on women over the age of 50. Police say Ekwunze would try to befriend or win the trust of his victims and would knock on doors, ask to use the phone or for directions and would often enter the residences and unlock windows to allow him access when he came back to commit a crime. When he was initially questioned about the assault on the 91-year-old woman, he told investigators he was looking for money to steal. He admitted to breaking a bathroom door to gain access to her and forcing her onto a bed.
