Garbage Man Gets 30 Days in Jail for Picking Up Trash Too Early

A sanitation worker in Sandy Springs, Georgia is serving a 30-day jail sentence for starting picking up trash too early. Lets explain: Kevin McGill started picking up trash around 5 a.m. and was cited for violating a city ordinance. The ordinance limits trash pick up to between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The city solicitor says he's tried everything to get sanitation workers to stop coming to communities before 7 a.m. He says he’s tried fining the companies they work for, but it doesn't work; so now he's decided to haul them off to jail. Another sanitation worker received the same 30-day sentence last year. Kevin will serve the the time in jail on the weekends.
