NBA Baller Chris Copeland, Girlfriend Stabbed Outside NYC Nightclub


Chris Copeland, who plays with the Indiana Pacers, was stabbed — along with his girlfriend and another women -- on the street outside the 1OAK club in New York City this morning. According to police, Chris -- who in NYC with his team to face play the Knicks Wednesday night -- was arguing with his girlfriend, Katrine Saltara, outside the nightclub at 4am when he accused Shezoy Bleary, 22, of eavesdropping. Chris, 31, then turned his attention to Shezoy and the two men got into a verbal spat and Chris shoved Shezoy; Katrine tried to intervene. That’s when Shezoy pulled out a knife and stabbed Chris in the stomach and slashed Katrine in the breast, buttocks and arm. Shezoy accidentally slashed his friend, Catherine Somani, 23, in her abdomen during the melee. All three victims were rushed to hospitals in the area in stable condition. Chris' driver detained Shezoy until police arrived. He was arrested at the scene and charges are pending.

Sidebar: Two Atlanta Hawks players, who were always at the nightclub, were arrested after they refused to get out of the way and let police establish the crime scene. 31-year-old Pero Antic was charged with obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct and menacing and 30-year-old Thabo Sefolosha was charged with resisting arrest as well as obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct.
