Woman Under Investigation For Hitting 3-year-old Boy in the Face With Tablet
Officials in Victorville, California are investigating a possible child abuse case after a video surfaced showing a woman hitting a 3-year-old boy in the face with what appears to be a tablet device outside of a Kohl’s department store last Wednesday. The woman was identified by police as 39-year-old Yvonne Camargo. In the video, she is seen placing a screaming child in the backseat of a car. She then wipes the boy's face with a napkin and then smacks him across the face with the tablet. That's when the people behind the camera (who began filming when they say they saw Yvonne pulling the child's hair) speak up. Using several choice words, they berate Yvonne, letting her know what she's doing is illegal. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department released a statement saying the boy -- whose relationship with Yvonne was not disclosed -- was examined for injuries. “The deputy examined the child for injuries, conducted a criminal interview with Camargo, and notified Children and Family Services. The case is being submitted to the (San Bernardino County) District Attorney’s Office,” the news release stated.
