Ex-NFLer Lawrence Taylor's Son Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison For Rape

Lawrence Taylor Jr, the 33-year-old son of the former NFLer Lawrence Taylor, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for statutory rape and child molestation stemming from this 2013 arrest.
Lawrence Taylor Jr., the son of the former NFL great Lawrence Taylor, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for statutory rape and child molestation. The 33-year-old admitted he’d likely be found guilty of sexually assaulting two 13-year-old girls between 2012 and 2013. Taylor took a plea on Monday, the day he was set to go to trial in Cobb County, Ga. Judge Mary Staley sentenced him to 10 years behind bars with another 20 years probation when he’s released. Powder Springs cops busted Taylor in July 7, 2013 after one of the girls reported he’d molested her the day before. Investigators later found he’d also assaulted the second victim four or five times since 2012, authorities said. Taylor, known as T.J., will join his famous father as a registered sex offender. The elder Taylor, who starred at linebacker from with the Giants, pleaded guilty to patronizing a prostitute and sexual misconduct after a 2010 rendezvous with an underage sex worker. Lawrence Taylor Jr. attended his father’s induction ceremony in 1999 at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He later auctioned a Super Bowl ring his father won in 1991 with the Giants. “Resolving this case with a guilty plea provides the victims with finality and prevents them from having to relive their experiences on the witness stand,” assistant Cobb County District Attorney Hannah Palmquist said. “Justice was done in this case, not only because the defendant will serve 10 years in prison, but because the victims will not have to be put through the emotional toll of a trial.”
