Man Orders Fried Chicken From Bojangles', Gets Box of Cash Instead

Recently, a man named James "JJ" Minor ordered fried chicken at a Bojangles’ restaurant on Laburnum Avenue in Richmond, Virginia, but the chicken he received was cold. After complaining, he was told to wait a few minutes for fresh chicken then was handed a bag. When he returned to his car and looked inside the bag, he found $4,500 in cash and several bank deposit slips inside the box and no chicken. He went back inside the restaurant and asked for the manager. He returned the money to the manager but James says the manager was not appreciative of his good deed. “He told me in an arrogant, nasty attitude being disrespectful saying that, ‘We would’ve called the authorities on you, too,’” James recalled. “Here I am doing a good thing, bringing the money back. Most folks probably would’ve kept on going and wouldn’t have recognized it until they got home.” James said he was offered another meal and a tailgate party. He later called a district manager, but says that person hung up on him. He then contacted the chain’s corporate headquarters, which offered him a $100 gift certificate. James wants an apology and a real reward. “I deserve respect, an apologetic letter from the Bojangles’ company and probably a cash reward,” he said. “What is a $100 gift certificate when you’re bringing in $4,500?”
