Last Friday Sarah Palin shocked the world when she announced that she will be resigning as governor of Alaska in a couple weeks - with 18 months left in her term.
According to a USA Today/Gallup Poll 71% of Republicans would vote for her if she ran for president in 2012.
Three-fourths of Democrats hope she won't be and 55% of Independents would prefer she leave the national stage.
