The underground community specializes in distributing prerelease copies of music. Two of its members were employees at a plant in North Carolina that manufactured disks for Universal Music Group, according to federal court papers. Investigators found more than 27,000 unauthorized files on Montejano's computer, estimated to be worth between $10,000 and $30,000. According to court papers, he accepted a guilty plea for conspiracy to commit copyright infringement.
