Terrence Howard's Former Manager Sues For Unpaid Commission, Royalties
In a lawsuit filed May 3 in Pennsylvania, Victoria Fredrick is using actor Terrence Howard for breach of contract and unjust enrichment to the tune of $137,500 plus royalties. According to the suit (which you can read below), Victoria began working for Terrence in February 2004, when she was hired as the "loan out" manager while his ex-wife Lori Howard acted as his full-time manager. Anyway, after he was arrested for beating down Lori, Victoria took the reigns as his sole personal manager and in September 2005 thy entered into a contract that she would receive 10% commission on all amounts earned by Terrence from his activities in the entertainment industry -- including his work in film and music and another 10% in royalties even if Victoria was no longer his manager. On January 6, 2010, Terrence fired her. In her lawsuit, Victoria says Terrence made $1,750,000 for his work on the film "Fightin" and he only paid her $87,000 in commission. She's owed another $87,500. The actor was paid $1 million for "Winnie" but Terrence only paid her only half of her $100,000 commission. In addition to the $137,500 she's out for these two films, Victoria wants to the court to award her the 10% commisson on a litany of films Terrence completed while Terrence was her clients and on all royalties from his newly-signed contract with Sony Music. Plus, 10% on work he's not yet completed by Victoria had a hand in "including providing advice to and/or coordinating conversations among Howard's agents, attorneys and accountants on Howard's behalf, for a number of Projects for which negotiated agreements are substantially complete but which have not yet started production."
