We just recently learned of a tradition: Before the clocks strikes 12am on January 1st, some superstitious people wash all of their clothing because if they don't, someone in their family will die in the new year. Last New Year's Eve, unemployed mother of six Shonterie Brown packed all of her family's clothing and linens into her red minivan to take to a laundromat for washing, but someone stole the sucker. source: WSB
