Man Says DMX Robbed Him at Gunpoint (Update: DMX's Lawyer Says Allegations 'False')

A 21-year-old man from Newark, NJ says bankrupt and deadbeat dad DMX robbed him at gunpoint at a gas station early Sunday morning. Police are investigating. According to the victim, he was at the gas station when DMX (who headlined an old-school hip-hop concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center that night) and his entourage 15 pulled up in 4 black Cadillac Escalades. "The two had a brief conversation about rap music and during the conversation a male in DMX's entourage, showed the victim a gun and demanded the victim's money," Newark police said in a statement. The victim said he pulled $3,200 in cash from his pocket (he had just cashed his paycheck), and DMX "snatched the money out of his hand" before jumping into one of four Escalades that left the scene. The victim was able to follow the Escalades and wrote down one of the license plat numbers, which he provided to police. An investigation into the incident remains ongoing. No arrests have been made and no criminal charges have been filed, that may change after police review the gas station's surveillance cameras. Whatever happens, this should be interesting. DMX has spent more time in jail than he has on a stage and by the of this police investigation we fear he'll be back behind bars.

Update: Bronx-based Murray Richman, whose long list of clients has included Jay-Z and members of the Lucchese crime family, told WABC the charges allegations his client are false. "The allegations are unequivocally and utterly false." He adds surveillance video of the scene would prove "dispositive" in absolving his client.
