Mathematician Schools Mariah on 'E=MC2'

Math and pop culture has collided, and don't you know it, it's not that exciting.

Mariah named her album "E=MC2", which in Mariah's world, means “emancipation equals Mariah Carey times two".

But, Mathematician Dr David Leslie told the BBC the singer had “misread the algebra."

“The ‘two’ in the equation means C squared, not MC multiplied by two. The correct reading of the equation is E=MCC, so perhaps Mariah’s re-interpretation should have been ‘emancipation equals Mariah Carey Carey’?”
