Rap Group's Manager Sues Louis Vuitton For Incident at Kanye's Party

We've heard stories of clothiers suing rappers for copyright infringement, but rappers suing clothiers is a new one.

Steve Lobel, who oversees the Grammy-winning group Bone, Thugs-N-Harmony, says he was hurt at Kanye West's 30th birthday bash on June 7, 2007, and is suing luxury clothier Louis Vuitton, which hosted the event.

He alleges in the lawsuit that a temporary panel fell off the wall onto his head!

Lobel is demanding unspecified damages from the company, who, he claims, used unstable wall panels to "obscure the store's merchandise and create a club look."

The suit, filed in Queens Supreme Court, also names Manhattan events promoter Tony Berger, of Relevent Group LLC.

"We were aware of the incident. We reported it to our insurance carrier, and it is being handled by them," Berger said.

It's the latest black eye for Louis Vuitton's 57th St. location. Last December, rapper Jim Jones landed behind bars after beating a friend of rival rapper Ne-Yo inside the store.
