Ron Paul Wanted to Punch Sacha Baron Cohen in the Face
If you haven't seen the hilarious trailer for Bruno by now, we have no words for you.
Texas Congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul will make his theatrical debut in the film, in a scene where Sasha Baron Cohen's character Bruno tries to seduce him in a dimly-lit hotel room replete with soft music, Champagne, strawberries and caviar. Soon after Bruno begins to take his clothes off, Paul gets the hint and runs out of the room mumbling to himself, "This guy is a queer!"
So, Paul, appearing on Guardian Angel founder Curtis Sliwa's radio show, tries and clear up the drama - you know before the rest of the world sees him gets hit on by another man and being thought as homophobic.
"I was expecting an interview on Austrian economics. So, that didn't turn out that way. But, by the time he started pulling his pants down, I, What is going on here? I ran out of the room. This interview has ended. When this all gets out, I'm probably going to have to apologize to my supporters because I think most of them are going to figure out why in the world didn't I sock this guy in the nose?"
Socking him in the nose is foreplay for a lot of people.
[Here the rest of the interview after the jump.]
