Paula Abdul may be off "American Idol". But probably not.
After eight seasons of seeing the bright side on the most dismal performances, Paula has not received a renewal contract, according to her manager of only a few weeks, David Sonenberg.
Paula is reportedly asking for $20 million, but the network is only willing to pay her $10 million.
“Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on ‘Idol,’ ” David Sonenberg told The Los Angeles Times.
The Enquirer reported that Paula was hoping to score $20 million a year or double her salary. (Which is only fair after Ryan will get $45 over three years and Simon will rake in $144 for one season.)
“I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful,” he said of the contract holdup. “I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”
Though Paula has said that she would "love to be on the show," she hasn't heard anything concrete. "She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry," her manager said. "I think at this point we're going to be considering everything, including some kind of a competition show. She has tremendous ideas for a whole variety of shows."
Auditions for the ninth season begins Aug. 6. David says he doesn’t even have a proposal for a new contract from FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, the production companies behind the show. The new season is scheduled to premiere in January.
While we think Paula is an idiot with a selective memory, there's no way Fox will get rid of her.
Who will provide craziness this this?

I'm hearing this may be a publicity stunt and that they're keeping Paula and dumping Kara Whatsherface.
