Former presidential candidate John Edwards' political career is done. Yesterday the National Enquirer reported that a secret DNA test Edwards agreed to proves he is teh father of the little girl he had with a campaign employee.
The Enquirer, which has been right on with their reporting on this scandal, said the test was taken after Rielle Hunter tried to get financial help from Edwards for the 18-month-old girl named Frances Quinn Hunter.
On the heels of this bombshell revelation, Edwards' lawyers are apparently working feverishly to hammer out the details of child support payments.
Rielle has agreed to testify to a federal grand jury investigating whether Edwards broke campaign finance law by funneling her and a former aide who claimed to be Frances' father "hush money". She was spotted last week in Raleigh, N.C., entering a federal courthouse, where she spent nine hours.
While Edwards' wife has forgave him for jumping off with Rielle and springing the news on her while she was battling cancer, the grand jury won't be so forgiving. According to the Enquirer, Edwards could go to jail.
