Yet Another Rapper is Going to Prison

When rapper Lil Boosie (real name: Torrence Hatch) pleaded guilty last September to a third-offense marijuana possession charge, the judge gave him specific instructions while awaiting sentencing: wear your ankle bracelet and clear your concert dates with the court.

But, Lil Boosie, who was expecting to be sentenced to one year in prison, didn't follow those simple instructions and yesterday the judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison, but he will only serve two.

His lawyer said Lil Boosie left home without court permission and his electronic monitoring device died several times because he didn't charge it properly.

"He felt he had to earn funds since he wouldn't be able to do so while he was in jail. He wasn't trying to thumb his nose at the judge, he just thought he was doing the right thing for his children. In the long run, though, he probably made it worse," the lawyer added.

In October 2008, Lil Boosie was arrested when cops searched his car and found a bag of weed, a blunt, and a gun. The gun charge will go away if he successfully completes his 5-year probation when he's released for the weed charges.

Lil Boosie has a problems following rules. Remember when he punched someone because he didn't want to adhere to rules?
