Cody, The Dog Working At A Florida Store, Has Been Fired

Last week we told you about Cody who was greeting customers and bringing a smile to countless faces at a Florida gas station/convenience store.

Well, we are very sad to report that Cody has been given his walking papers; he's been let go.

Why?

According to the St. Petersburg Times, a state health inspector gave Karim Mansour, the store's owner an ultimatum this morning: Remove the dog or the Health Department would declare all the store's food products — mostly bottled sodas, Slim Jims and candy bars — unfit for consumption.

"There's no way one of my dog's hairs are going to get into a bag of Doritos," Karim said. Which, by the way, is an excellent point especially because every food item in the store is prepackaged.
