Woman Drugs, Poisons Second Child in Four Years!
This story is so sad and should serve as yet another example why some people shouldn't be allowed to breed.
A 25-year-old Oregon woman has pleaded guilty (and sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison) to poisoning her 2-month-old daughter with morphine in a bid to attract the attention of the child's father. And get this: In 2005, she spent six months in jail on charges of poisoning her 11-month-old son with a high dose of morphine, because ... [wait for it]... she wanted the attention of his father.
Just to be clear: Her son and daughter are fathered by two different men.
Sara Rose Dillard (pictured), a former medical assistant, rushed her daughter (whose name is Elise) to a local emergency room on June 3. Elise was barely breathing and had a low heart rate, which then resulted in the child being rushed to a larger hospital in Portland where toxicology tests came back positive for opiates (morphine).
She told hospital staff she was taking morphine for a medical condition and that the drug must have passed through her breast milk, but tests of the bottled milk found a potentially lethal level of opiates.
Busted!
She admitted to putting a morphine pill on Elise's tongue after being upset that the baby's father, cardiologist Wallace Lai (she snagged a doctor! a heart doctor! a married heart doctor!), hadn't come to the hospital to visit her.
Elise is in foster care. Her son is living with his father.
When she's released from prison, she will be barred from having any unsupervised contact with any child without the written consent of her therapist; She'll also have to undergo mental health counseling.
Now, will someone tie her tubes?
