Twenty-six-year-old Samantha Light of Veedersburg, Indiana pleaded guilty to three felony counts of child molesting and was sentenced yesterday to 125 in prison after she was convicted of videotaping herself performing sex acts with at least three children as young as 2 months old she was babysitting. (The two-month-old she molested is her own daughter! The other children were a one-year-old boy, and a six-year-old boy.)
Samantha said her boyfriend, who has plead not guilty, made her do it.
She said while she appeared happy on the video tape she had felt like she "was dying inside."
She and her boyfriend, Stephen E. Quick II, have been jailed since March after a 3-year-old girl told her mother she had been touched inappropriately by her baby sitter and that the couple had taken photographs.
Samantha received 40 years apiece for the first two felony counts, and 45 years for the third count. The judge increased the sentence on the third count due to the very young age of Samnatha's daughter.
The maximum sentence was 150 years, but because of her remorse and lack of prior record, the judge trimmed off 15 years.
