No, They Weren't Growing Weed in Their Car? Yes, They Were!

Now for the donkey of the day.

Police in Leicester, Mass. have arrested three men after a traffic stop found marijuana being grown in the back seat of their Ford Taurus.

According to FOX25 News, the car was stopped because it had an expired sticker, but as cops came closer they smelled "alcohol and saw several large objects covered in the back seat."

Jacob Balter, who was driving, tried to excuse the alcohol odor by saying he spilled a drink on himself, but cops weren't buying it.

A search of the car turned up two large boxes with fluorescent lighting, which each had a marijuana plant being grown inside of them (pictured, above). The lights were powered by a strip which was connected to a power inverter plugged into the cigarette lighter in the vehicle.

Jacob Balter, 18, Zachary Smith, 20, and a 16-year-old were arrested and charged with cultivation of class D marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.

They were merely rescuing it from an untimely demise. It's not a meth lab. It's a pot plant. Obviously a stupid mistake, but those kids aren't criminals.
