81-year-old Busted For Selling Weed

An 81-year-old Ocklawaha, Fla. man was arrested and charged with drug possession with intent to sell and possession of a firearm without a serial number after they found pounds of weeds and a cache of weapons on him home on Wednesday.

Someone tipped off police that Carlton Griggs was dealing drugs from his home, so cops went to investigate. After trailing his car, they pulled him over. Carlton admitted that he has been selling drugs for two years. They searched his car and found a loaded gun, then he allowed the police to follow him home so they could search the place.

Ocala.com reports:
At the home, deputies found several long guns in individual cases under a bed, a revolver in a drawer and two loaded revolvers - one of which was under a pillow on the bed - in the master bedroom. Officials found a total of 10 guns. They then found a trap door in a laundry room that led to a cellar. There they found marijuana in a cooler. Griggs told Baxley the drugs belonged to him and that he had selling it from his home for about two years, according to the Sheriff's Office. Griggs reportedly estimated he sold anywhere from 10 to 12 pounds of marijuana. Removed from his left chest pocket was a plastic sandwich bag that contained marijuana. Griggs also told Baxley that, when he stopped him, he was on his way to a grocery store to sell the marijuana, according to the Sheriff's Office. Deputies confiscated a little more than four pounds of marijuana, four guns - because they had no serial numbers - drug paraphernalia and Griggs' car.
He was released from jail yesterday morning. His wife told a TV station: “I just hope they will go easy on him. That’s all I know,” she said. “I don’t know too much about it. I wasn’t involved in it. I’ve been sick in the hospital.”
